CHRISTMAS LUNCH–WEDNESDAY 7 th DECEMBER 2016
The 2016 Christmas Lunch will be held in the Millennium Suite at the RAF Club, 128 Piccadilly, London on Wednesday 7 th December (12:30 pm for 1:00 pm). I am very pleased to announce that our guest of honour this year will be Peter Vacher. Born during the ‘Blitz’, Peter began restoring vintage cars from an early age.
Taking a job in Australia in the early nineties, he and his wife, Polly, learnt to fly and Peter’s interest moved from vintage cars to elderly aeroplanes. Following his Hurricane experience, Peter is nearing the complete
rebuild of a 1934 de Havilland Leopard Moth. He is the author of “Hurricane R4118 – The extraordinary story of the discovery and restoration of a great Battle of Britain survivor” and “The History of the Jodhpur
Flying Club”. At the lunch he will speak about, “The Rescue of a Battle of Britain Hurricane- an Indian Tale” The menu for the lunch will be:
Cream of carrot, pumpkin and sage soup
Roast Norfolk turkey with chipolatas and bacon,
served with chestnut stuffing, cranberry &bread sauces,
traditional roast potatoes and a selection of seasonal vegetables
Christmas puddingwith brandy sauce
Coffee and mince pies
The cost of the lunch is £60.00 p.p. This includes an introductory glass of Prosecco/orange juice and wine (choice of white or red) with the meal. I look forward to seeing you at the RAF Club on the 7 th December for what I am sure will be a very pleasant occasion.
Dress code is smart casual (jacket and tie for the chaps).
