Accommodation
PLEASE PHONE- Aquarius on the Beach, the Strand, Townsville, 07 47724255 – mention the “International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians Group” to receive a special IFFR rate of $145 per night. Please note Rooms are only held at this rate until 21st September. Continental breakfast available for $10 or breakfast at the Waterfront Restaurant at own cost ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MEMBERS.
Friday, 7th October:
Arrivals in Townsville. Depending on arrival time, Colleen 0417 144836 or Ted 0408 142336 may be able to assist. Every endeavour is being made to arrange transport by local Rotarians. If all else fails, taxi from Townsville Airport to Aquarius on the Beach is about $20. Details on accommodation were sent previously; please check that you have reserved your accommodation.
Executive committee meeting 5.30pm
AGM and dinner at the Waterfront Restaurant, (next door to accommodation) 6.30pm for 7.00pm, own cost.
Saturday, 8th October:
Bus will pick us up in front, 9.30am for sightseeing and lunch at Bushland Beach Tavern, then to back to Townsville for visit to the Museum of Tropical Queensland which has a great display on HMS Pandora, wrecked north of Townsville. We would expect to have you back to the hotel about 3.30 to 4.00.
Bus will pick us up at 6.15pm for dinner with Townsville Sunrise Rotary Club at the Townsville RSL club, returning 9.30 or 10.00pm.
Sunday, 9th October :
Bus will pick us up in front, 9.30 for departure to the Saturday Market for shopping or to the Military museum, in the same area. There are many nice places to have lunch, at own cost, in the close vicinity. Bus will collect us at 12.30pm to take us out to the Billabong sanctuary for wildlife and crocodile viewing. From there we will go to Harvey’s Range and then afternoon tea at the Heritage Tea Rooms. Return to hotel about 4.00pm.
Dinner will be at a nearby restaurant, within easy walking for everyone, at own cost.
